Admission decisions are made with the best interest of all students in mind, and are based on a combination of each student's application and the academic programming at GCA.
Applications for GCA are online through myGCA. There is a requisite $200 application fee as a part of the process. Other documentation will be required including a copy of the student's most recent report card, and a copy of his/her birth certificate. If your child was born outside of Canada, we require both the birth certificate and the residency card (Visa, Permanent Resident Card, etc.).
If there is space in the grade that you have applied for, you will be contacted by the Director of Admissions to arrange for an appointment and academic assessment for your child. Please note: if there is no space in that grade, your application will be placed on a wait list.
Students will undergo an academic assessment appropriate to the grade level they are applying for with a certified teacher. The teacher will then review the assessment and provide detailed results to the principals. The assessment, along with the student's report card marks will then be reviewed.
If an assessment is successful, the family will be contacted to arrange for an interview with the Head of School. Successful applicants will then receive a registration package.
