UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS

At GCA, we have both "official" uniform items, and "casual" uniform items. Every Monday is an "official uniform" day. All of our uniform pieces are to be purchased at Top Marks. During the school year, Top Marks has "fit days" where they will come to the school and you can have your student measured for uniform items. Download our Top Marks Uniform Order Package.

For K-9 students, casual uniform items can be worn in any combination on non-official uniform days. For JK students, casual uniform items can be worn in any combination any day. A few uniform pieces are designed for specific grades, and will be noted in the descriptions below. Please note: girls are allowed to wear the boys' navy/iris v-neck buttoned polo shirts, and navy and khaki boys' cut pants. The rugby shirt is for boys only.

Black shoes and navy/black socks (or stockings) are also required when students are in casual uniform.

JK students are welcome to wear any type of shoes with non-marking soles; black shoes are not required.

All Kindergarten students are to have black running-type shoes that are slip-on and/or have velcro closure. These shoes must have non-marking soles. We do not allow other types of shoes to be worn as the Kindergarten students do not change into gym shoes for gym class. These shoes will be left at school to be worn when in class. Once students are in Grade 1, they will have a pair of black shoes to wear during the day and a pair of running shoes (any colour with non-marking soles) for gym class.

Elementary Indoor Uniform Shoes should be solid black shoes. These are worn while attending classes as part of their daily uniform. We do allow for a small amount of white on the shoe (no other colours), but ask that it is limited to a small logo or the mid-sole (so long as it's not too thick). Gym shoes may be any colour or pattern as long as they have non-marking soles. Please label both pairs of shoes with your child's first and last name. Please use the guide below as a reference when purchasing indoor shoes.

Junior High Indoor Uniform Shoes should be solid black shoes. These are worn while attending classes as part of their daily uniform. Gym strip is optional for Grades 1-3, and mandatory for Grades 4-9. Gym strip is purchased online on our Parent Portal through the school year.
